Lent Book Club: 29th March 2022
Today’s suggested poem is “The almond tree” by Jon Stallworthy (1935-2014). It concerns the birth of his son and his feelings when he discovers that he has Down’s syndrome.
I have little to offer today by way of reflection – vacillating between maudling thoughts and pious platitudes. Perhaps I could waffle on but I won’t.
This year #LentBookClub are reading “Hearing God in Poetry. Fifty poems for Lent and Easter” by Richard Harries published by SPCK.
